Most arcane classes draw their magic energy from the three moons that keep a constant vigil over Krynn. An exception to that is the Warlock. The Warlock gains it’s abilities by making a deal with other powerful entities. There is no Infernal Pact in Dragonlance. However, due to the existence of the Dragon Overlords, a different pact is offered.

Dragon Overlord Pact

With the existence of the Dragon Overlords, some creatures on Krynn have chosen to honor these massive creatures as gods, instead of the true ones. A Dragon Overlord pact user gives his loyalty to one of the five Dragon Overlords in exchange for great power. That power, is reflective of that particular Dragon Overlords color.
